Driver's Education
A.L. Brown Student Driver's Education Info
- Driver’s Education is optional and costs $65
- Students must complete the online Canvas course with an 80% or higher average
- AI tools may not be used to complete coursework
- After completing the online course, students must complete an eye check and payment process
- Students will then complete 6 hours of driving instruction with an instructor
- Upon successful completion, students will receive the documents needed to apply for a driver permit through the DMV

Homeschool Driver's Education Info
- Homeschooled students must reside within the Kannapolis City Schools district to participate in Driver’s Education
- Students must complete the classroom portion of Driver’s Education before moving to the next step
- Coursework may be completed through Canvas, if available, or through provided class materials
- Approximately 30 hours of classwork is required
- Once all classwork is completed and submitted, students may continue to the next phase of Driver’s Education
